About Tri-City

“People have been putting tallow on their skin for thousands of years. We just filter it properly.”

— Bill (William to some), Our Founder

Tri-City makes cosmetic-grade beef tallow skincare in Canada. We source grass-fed suet locally, render and micro-filter it ourselves, and put it in jars with ingredient lists you can count on one hand.

What We Make

Cosmetic-grade beef tallow skincare. Our core product is pure tallow, cosmetic filtered. We also produce a lip balm and a whipped body butter for those who prefer a lighter texture. That is the full range. We focus on doing a small number of things correctly.

How We Make It

We take suet from grass-fed Canadian cattle and render it slowly. We then filter it to a higher standard than food grade requires, removing odour, colour, and impurities. What remains is shelf-stable, odourless fat that your skin can effectively absorb.

Where We Make It

Canada. The suet comes from Canadian grass-fed cattle, the rendering and filtration happen locally, and the product is packed locally. We do not import finished product or outsource production.

What “Cosmetic Grade” Means

Food grade tallow

Rendered to be safe to eat. May have odour. May have colour. Appropriate for cooking, but not what you want to apply to your face each morning.

Cosmetic grade tallow

Rendered, then micro-filtered. No odour. No colour. No impurities. Consistent batch to batch. This is what we produce, and it is the step many producers in this space do not take.
